Tariff and Booking

Both Retreat Boats have full central heating and are available throughout the autumn and winter.

Basic Hire Charge Sailing Retreat Boat
The cost of the Sailing Retreat Boat is £240 per night, this is for the boat, and you can have a maximum of six people on board for sleeping. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights. (The usual cost of hiring a boat of this calibre is £3000 per week!)

If you don't take the boat anywhere then this is all you pay.

If you fancy a trip out then call our Skipper and these are the additional charges.....

Skipper
There is a charge of £135 for the skipper per day, but only when you want him (except for the unlikely event that there is a problem with the boat and then there is no charge.) The boat is based at Darthaven Marina, Kingswear, Devon; this is the opposite side of the River to Dartmouth .

The cost of the Motor Retreat Boat is £250 per night, this is for the boat, and you can have a maximum of six people on board for sleeping, although you can have up to eight people on board for trips. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights. (The usual cost of hiring a boat of this calibre is £4000 per week!)

If you don't take the boat anywhere then this is all you pay.

If you fancy a trip out then call our Skipper and these are the additional charges.....

Fuel/Skipper
There is a charge of £135 for the skipper for the day, but only when you want him, except for the unlikely event that there is a problem with the boat, and then there is no charge.On top of this price you need to pay £10 per mile for fuel/running/costs/expenses. (First 10 miles are free of charge.) The boat is based at Darthaven Marina, Kingswear, Devon; this is the opposite side of the River to Dartmouth .

A couple of Motor Retreat Boat Costing Examples.

1) River trip - Dartmouth to Dittisham VIllage
One of our most popular trips is a short trip up river to the village of Dittisham . This village has a couple of great pubs, a café, sailing tuition and an excellent romantic mooring. (There is even a seal that swims past occasionally). This is a round trip of only three miles, so would only cost £135 for a round trip in one day, or £270 if returning a day/week later. (two call-outs for the skipper). This trip is ideal if you were doing a three-night break.

2) Motor Cruise - Dartmouth to Salcombe
If you were to take the boat from Dartmouth to Salcombe and back, this would be a round trip of about 32 miles; you would pay £355 for this. See the Suggested Trip Page for more details of different trips.

We can always price up a particular trip for you.

Scheduled activity stops
We charge an hourly rate for the skipper over 8 hours on board. If you wanted to stop for any reason whilst on a trip e.g. fishing, anchoring up for swimming, going ashore direct from the main vessel, (remember you have the dinghy available for this, which is included in the price, so you may not need the skipper), the skipper will be charged at £20 per hour for these extra times.

If you were to just leave the boat moored, you would not pay any additional costs.

Provisions

We supply a starter food pack, to include, milk, bread, butter, eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, sugar etc. (This is included in your hire cost). If you would like any extras you would also need to pay a provisioning cost, and this would be the actual cost of the goods from our chosen supermarket, there is no surcharge for this. We can suggest quantities of food to buy in relation to the trip you are making, and the fridge space available.

The Retreat Boat is a non-smoking vessel.

We require a minimum of 25% as a deposit, with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to the hire, we also take a damage deposit of one nights rental which is refundable if there is no damage to the vessel,it's interior or accessories.
