About the Boat
The Retreat boat is a Fairline 40' Fly Bridge Motor Cruiser, it can cruise at 20 knots, it is a spacious and stable boat. It has been fitted out for the ultimate in luxury.

Cabins
It has two cabins for sleeping; the main cabin has a king-size bed with a very comfortable memory foam mattress on it. There is an en-suite shower/toilet, wardrobe and central heating. Linen and towels are provided.



The second cabin has two single comfortable beds, a wardrobe, and central heating. The main toilet/shower for the boat is just outside the door of this cabin. Linen and towels are provided.

Kitchen
The galley (kitchen) is fitted with a gas oven and hob, a microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster,and coffee machine. There is a large fridge in the galley, and a drinks fridge in the main saloon area. The kitchen is well equipped with a full range of cutlery, pans, plates and kitchen accessories including tea towels and condiments. If booked, all the provisioning can be done for you prior to arrival.

Saloon
The saloon area (lounge) has a flat screen TV, CD, a DVD player and we can arrange to have a Play Station on board, should you so wish!! There is an L shaped sofa in the saloon area, (this has now been completely refurbished) which converts into a king-size bed and four large comfortable footstools. There is a drinks fridge here too. The saloon area has a very ambient atmosphere, with subtle lighting.

Outside Area
Outside the saloon there are two sliding French-style doors these lead to the back cockpit area, which is perfect for semi-outside dining. There is a cover, which will keep out the elements, but the sides of this can be removed for more Al Fresco style dining on hot summer days. There is a large table for dining and comfortable seats, which span the whole width of the boat. We have had 10 people around this table on numerous occasions.

The boat has a bathing platform and a ladder, which leads into the sea for ease of boarding for swimming whilst at anchor. The tender (small inflatable dinghy with an outboard engine) to the boat is made ready for your use, full of fuel and ready to go. This tender can do 25 knots, and has a centre console and steering wheel for ease of use. Our skipper will ensure that you are happy with its use before he/she leaves you. This little boat is ideal for visits ashore, for pubs/restaurants/shopping or just for exploring smaller creeks etc.

Technical
There are two helm (steering) positions on the boat. One in the saloon area (only used if the elements are against us) and one on the fly bridge of the boat. Here you will find the control centre of the boat. The Retreat Boat is fitted with all the latest navigational equipment, chart plotter, radio, GPS, navtex, and radar, along with some more recreational items such as a fish finder!!! You are welcome to join the skipper at the helm, whilst underway, and take advantage of his knowledge and learn about controlling a vessel like this. (If you wanted some formal instruction whilst on The Retreat Boat, this can be arranged and our skipper is qualified to run all RYA courses, so this could be combined with your charter).

There are comfortable seats on the Fly Bridge and plenty of room for sun bathing, all around the boat.

The boat carries some other items such as fishing and crabbing gear, some games, and a basic DVD/CD library.

Special dietary needs can be catered for.

Safety
The boat is coded for chartering, which means it has been inspected and fitted out to a high safety standard. It carries a full range of safety equipment. Your safety is paramount to us. Each person on board will have their own lifejacket, and there are two life rafts on board, as well as first aid packs, flares and fire extinguishers etc. Our skipper will be on - call 24-hours a day, in the unlikely event of you having any sort of problem with the boat.
